John Updike hosts a special instalment of the 'Selected Shorts: A Celebration of the Short Story' series, with choice extracts from the 'Best American Short Stories of the Century' anthology. Playwright of the moment Kathleen Chalfant reads Grace Stone Coates's 'Wild Plums'; Jane Alexander reads Dorothy Parker's 'Here We Are'; and Robert Sean Leonard reads Tim O'Brien's 'The Things They Carried'.
